YOUTH SEASON INFORMATION

Dakota Ridge Sports Association offers a recreational program for players in grades 2 through 7, as well as competitive Feeder teams for players in grades 5 through 7. Participation is based on grade level.
The cost to play in the Dakota Ridge Sports Association recreational league is $ for grades 3 through 7. The cost for 2nd Graders is $, which includes their uniform. Included in the price are uniform top and shorts, league fees, 1 team and 1 individual picture, gym space for practices as well as games, officials, and liability insurance. Competitive feeder team fees who play in a Gold Crown league for grades 5 through 7 will be an ADDITIONAL . All DRSA team player fees are determinded solely by the DRSA Board of Directors. Questions regarding fees should be directed to a DRSA Board member and not an individual sports director.
The Recreational program is for boys and girls in grades 2 through 7. The teams compete in the Jefferson County Conference Basketball League against teams from other area associations. In each grade group, teams typically compete in either recreational or competitive divisions. Teams will be placed in divisions by Coaches, and with the help of the Dakota Ridge Sports Association Basketball Directors, according to skill level.
Practices will be held at Dakota Ridge area feeder elementary schools for grades 2-6, and Summit Ridge Middle School for grades 6-8, as long as space is available. Teams typically practice twice a week until the league season starts the week of November 25, 2019. Practices will begin in October. The season runs through the middle of February. Games typically are played Mondays through Saturdays. The top 8 teams from every division will play in the Post-Season Tournament.
***Requests for specific coaches will be considered, but WILL NOT be guaranteed. Teams will be filled on the basis of what is best for all players registered*** Returning players should indicate if they played on a DRSA team last season and who their coach was, and if they wish to return to that team or not. If you are not sure, please contact the DRSA office and we will be happy to help you!*** COMPETITIVE FEEDER TEAM COACHES MAY NOT BE REQUESTED!!!!!!!
Dakota Ridge Sports Association Feeder competitive teams compete in a Gold Crown league. The ADDITIONAL fee for DRSA teams that compete in the Gold Crown league is $. All players in grades 5 through 7 who desire to play on a Feeder competitve level team MUST attend the scheduled tryout. Players will not be placed onto a Feeder competitive level team unless they have attended the tryout.........NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Players will need to be registered and have paid the $75 NON-REFUNDABLE tryout deposit in order to attend the tryout. (This amount will be applied to the player's total fees once assigned to a team)
The portion of the season that will be played in a Gold Crown league, for any competitive Feeder teams in Grades 5 through 7, will start after the New Year, and games typically will be played on Sundays. The postseason tournament runs from late February to early March. Competitive level teams are encouraged to participate in preseason tournaments. Fees and registration for these tournaments will be handled by the coaches of the competetive level teams.
********PLAYERS WHO TRYOUT FOR AND ARE SELECTED TO PLAY ON A FEEDER COMPETITIVE LEVEL TEAM (with the exception of 8th grade feeder teams) MUST PAY THE REGULAR LEAGUE FEE(Jefferson County) AND THE ADDITIONAL COMPETITIVE LEAGUE FEE.**
8TH GRADE BASKETBALL FEEDER PROGRAM
This program is ONLY for Boys and Girls currently in the 8th Grade who will be enrolling and attending Dakota Ridge High School for their Freshman year. We will not be offering any other recreational or competitive teams for 8th graders outside of our area. The TOP 8th Grade Basketball Feeder teams will play in tournaments and will participate in the highest level of the competitive league, which is played through the Gold Crown league. Teams could possibly participate in the Jefferson County Conference Basketball League, depending on the skill level of the team. **If a team does play in the Jeffco League, those league fees will apply to the players of that team, as well as the Competetive league fees, which is played in a Gold Crown league, if the team participates there as well**
All 8th graders who meet the above requirements MUST attend the tryout in order to be selected for a team. There will be a $75 NON-REFUNDABLE tryout deposit and players must be registered and paid in order to attend the tryout. This amount will be applied to the player's total fees.
